We’re working with a Kansas City advertising agency to find an Account Director for their Overland Park location. As the primary point of contact for clients, you’ll deliver outstanding service and creative solutions while leading and inspiring the account team. You’ll be involved in everything from developing high-level strategies to executing detailed work, all aimed at driving meaningful results for both the agency and its clients.

Responsibilities:
- Actively lead the development and formulation of strategic marketing communication plans for client and/or brands, including creative strategy outlines and client briefs
- Formulate and present high‐level strategic insight and perspective for internal and external teams to succeed while delivering on tactical initiatives and elements
- Execute and manage marketing projects and ensure consistency across functional areas
- Build and identify additional growth opportunities by fostering and expanding existing and new client relationships
- Ensure client requests are handled in an effective, timely, and efficient manner
- Proactively communicate critical client and industry news to the client and agency team
- Support the agency within the Kansas City Metro advertising community and overall industry through networking opportunities and professional development
- Ensure compliance with agency policies and procedure
- Develop/implement client plan/budgets and development of client workflow forecasts
- Ability to travel as needed or required
- Unusual work hours are occasionally necessary to meet agency and client timelines and deliverables
- Success is measured by the quality of the end deliverable, which is a sum of 1) client satisfaction, 2) delivery on an acceptable timeline, and 3) within an acceptable budget
- The account director has the added measurable, along with the agency leadership team, of delivery of agency revenue and effectiveness goals
Skills/Qualifications:
- 8 years of relevant experience within the advertising/marketing industry
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field
- Proactive, forward thinking to anticipate obstacles and identify solutions
- Key industry experience (animal health, human health, financial services)
- Business acumen (financial, marketing, and strategic) skills necessary to effectively interface both internally and with clients
- Ability to effectively present information in one‐on‐one and group situations to customers, clients, and agency team members
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening) necessary to provide advertising direction within and outside the agency
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proactive, forward thinking to anticipate obstacles and identify solutions
- Be well versed and an expert in client business, products, and goals to define objectives and strategies for success
- Be a catalyst in developing and maintaining strong relationships between clients, agency, and industry contacts
