Business Development & Marketing Director – Personal Injury

LandaJob is working with our client, a personal injury law firm in Downtown Kansas City, to find a driven, execution-focused Business Development & Marketing Director to help expand the firm's referral network, community visibility, client engagement, and case-generating growth.

This is a business development-first role, with approximately 80% of the position centered on sales, outreach, and relationship-building and 20% focused on supporting marketing efforts.
If you have experience in, and know how personal injury firms grow through relationship development, community presence, and practical marketing execution, this role is for you!

The ideal candidate is comfortable with proactive outreach, in-person relationship development, and hands-on execution. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys growing a business through direct relationship-building, strategic follow-up, and consistent activity that leads to signed cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with referral sources, community partners, clients, and past clients through outreach, networking, sponsorships, and events. 

  • Oversee client and referral communications, including newsletters, e-newsletters, follow-up, appreciation efforts, maven gifting (premium or concierge-curated gifting services), and relationship-nurturing programs.
  • Build and maintain systems to track outreach, manage follow-up, and measure business development results, helping leadership identify what is driving growth.
  • Coordinate with outside marketing partners as needed to maintain consistency and accountability. 


Qualifications

  • Prior experience in marketing, business development, or growth-focused work in a personal injury services environment. 

  • Strong relationship-building skills and experience supporting referral-based growth. 

  • Experience in overseeing client engagement and app initiatives, including follow-up campaigns, maven gifting, and relationship nurturing programs.
  • Strong organization, follow-up, and execution skills. 

  • Ability to contribute immediately with minimal training and work independently in a collaborative setting. 

  • Professional communication skills and a data-minded approach to tracking results.
